3rd Shift Youth Care Worker
Department: Residential Services Position/Purpose: Provide security and safety for girls, staff, and building Qualifications: • High School Diploma and Must be 21 years of age or older • Trained and certified in First Aid and CPR • Significant life experience working with adolescents • Demonstrated ability to take direction from supervisor and work somewhat independently • Demonstrated ability to maintain good relationships with all staff and girls • Possess a valid Wisconsin Driver's License • Belief in the purpose and program of St. Rose Youth & Family Center, Inc. General Responsibilities: • Care for and relate to the children during night hours in case of illness, troubled sleep, or other problems necessitating staff involvement • Make continuous random checks (every 30-45 minutes) during the night utilizing the security wand to document time of check and condition of the resident • Assume responsibility for the security of building, checking all floors for fire or other hazards, and insuring that all doors are locked. Open front door in AM • Answer telephone and doors from 10:30 PM - 6:30 AM • Assume responsibility in emergency situations - fire alarm sounded, smoke detector activated, and storm/tornado warnings. Follow appropriate procedures to notify staff on duty • Perform other related tasks as designated by the third shift checklist or as deemed necessary by administration The above is not a complete or detailed list of all duties and responsibilities, but is meant to provide a general overview.
